Lena Herzog’s Lost Souls is Finally Released

Over the past 5 years, Roanne has been designing and curating photographs with Lena Herzog to produce Lost Souls. Finally completed, the monograph is published by de.mo Design Limited. The Lost Souls photos are currently up at the ICP exhibition Perspectives 2010.

Lena Herzog (Werner Herzog’s wife) has produced several photography books with Roanne including Flamenco: Dance Class, and The Bad Lieutenant Port of Call: New Orleans. Her portfolios have appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Paris Review, and Harper’s magazine and has exhibited her work in Europe and in the United States.

Lena is speaking at the New York Public Library on June 8th. We hope to see you there!

When Jade Arnott approached us for help and showed us her inspiration book we were super excited to try to bring her idea to life. Along with the crazy crystal pattern, we created a pop-up show invitation and lookbook so stay tuned for those in the near future.

We were invited to be in yet another design book! No, just kidding, we shouldn’t brag, we are totally honored to be included in this awesome looking design book. By Invitation Only showcases special invitation designs, which is great for us because its one of our favorite things to do. The Lorick Spring ‘09 Invitation landed itself on the cover and the Bodkin A/W 09 invitation got a mention in the introduction paragraph of the book. Last night’s Photo Auction for Artists in LOVE was a gigantic success! Incredible photos were donated by the likes of William Wegman, Dan Winters, Cass Bird, Platon etc. There was a huge turn out, incredible speakers, the auction made tons of money for the kids and we had fun in the process!!

The non-profit’s goal is to create a youth culture who teach the message of non-violence youth to youth (brilliant)!! These incredible kids shown above are the one’s spreading the message of non-violence. They and got up in from of the enormous crowd to speak about the violence they’ve witnessed in their lives and showcased the art that they create to reaction to it.

Jacqueline Di Milia

Recently, we were invited to guest lecture / critique a class — Communications Imaging at Pratt Institute taught by Jacqueline Di Milia. The class is primarily sophomores and focuses on photography within a design specific context. For the most part, we addressed our process of how images are created through art direction and putting them in to use through design. It was super fun, thanks for inviting us! Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to do it again.

While we’re on the subject, we should mention a recent re-brand project we worked on for DLC Brooklyn. We were delighted to find out that our re-brand work would be accompanied by beautiful photos shot by Jacqueline.

Jacqueline is a Brooklyn based photographer whose focus is on portraiture and landscape; shooting mainly for magazines like Paper, T Magazine, Spin, Bust, Theme Magazine, and Harpers Bazaar UK.

Timo Weiland’s Wrapped Up Present-ation

We’re proud to say Timo Weiland’s Fall/Winter 2010 Presentation once again looked beautiful and went off without a hitch.

Timo’s collection looked incredibly beautiful against the backdrop of thousands of intricately wrapped ribbons, thanks to the help of Tom Palmer’s Production team & Alexander May’s prop styling skills. The room was aglow with natural daylight and the ribbons created a directional vanishing point for the eye to focus on all the incredible looks. Bravo Timo & Alan!
