Candela’s online store went live yesterday illuminating screens around the world thanks to a feature on Style.com.
Congratulations to the Candela design stars: Natalia & Gabriela for taking their business into cyberspace, and thanks go out to Portable, our programming team who made the process so easy.
The ladies of Candela recommend pairing army boots with a flapper dress — so we command you to go shop!

We were invited to be in yet another design book! No, just kidding, we shouldn’t brag, we are totally honored to be included in this awesome looking design book. By Invitation Only showcases special invitation designs, which is great for us because its one of our favorite things to do. The Lorick Spring ‘09 Invitation landed itself on the cover and the Bodkin A/W 09 invitation got a mention in the introduction paragraph of the book. Published by viction:ary you can purchase it here

This Valentine’s Day, charity: water raised over $15,000 with through selling Valentine e-cards online. These are a few of the cards we designed for the occasion. We were thrilled to hear that 781 people will get clean water because of these cards!!! This great news warmed our hearts!

Woohooo! We’re super excited that Lorick’s Fall ‘09 poster (shot by Tom Hines) made it into Print magazine’s Regional Design Annual ‘09. We’re proud to represent the region of New York City!

We’re very proud and honored to be a part of this book. Not only is it well designed, but it showcases amazing work & a great roster of Art Directors. We just got our copy, so hopefully it will hit the stands pretty soon so you can get one too!

We are blown away by Katie Gallagher’s new collection and further astonished by the dead-on lookbook photos by the one and only Tom Hines.
Refinery shares our excitement, naming Katie along with Timo Weiland (YAY!!) designers to watch.

Rachel Antonoff’s show tickets made it to the top of Fashionista’s ranks!

We had the pleasure of working with photographer Tom Hines for the LORICK Fall ‘09 lookbook /campaign shoot. This season LORICK was inspired by the dark drama of certain Italian and French New Wave films like Truffaut’s The Bride Wore Black. Channeling this inspiration into our shoot we used narrative devices like suspense, the tension of a love triangle, some disturbing Hitchcockian death scenes, and the stormy day was a coincidence.

My Favorite Fashion Week Invite (So Far!) For Fall ‘09: Bodkin
by Truc Nguyen February 06, 2009
Bodkin-Invite.jpgAs the official wrangler of tickets for the Fashion and Accessories team here at Teen Vogue (and unofficial wranglers for some of my favorite directors in other departments), I get to see hundreds of invites to all the best (and most bizarre) shows and events every season. This season, many designers are taking the more cost-conscious and ecological route of sending out e-vites, which is very practical but takes away some of the magic of fashion week, in my opinion. That’s why it’s so nice to see a young new label take creative liberties with a most unusual invitation –a recycled paper tetrahedron containing an adorable air plant. Very apropos for Bodkin’s fashion week presentation at the Horticultural Society of New York!

Bodkin—These 3D invitations hand-delivered math and science right into our offices. The tetrahedron-shaped invite comes with a surprise inside— an air plant (fear not, New Yorkers, they need no natural sunlight or soil). Appropriately, the show will be held at the Horticultural Society of New York.

We’re in the business of print, but we are very conscious about the environment. Our mission is to use post-consumer paper or recovered tree-free fibers, chlorine-free paper and vegetable inks. We also work with printers/fabricators that take the environmental crisis seriously. Ozolife is a great website for smarter, more eco-conscious living. We were excited when they did a little piece about the Lorick invite.
